Celebrate The Queen's 90th Birthday aboard The Royal Yacht Britannia
Having played such an important role in The Queen’s life, The Royal Yacht Britannia is delighted to be celebrating Her Majesty's 90th birthday year in style.
Complimentary Commemorative Birthday Cupcakes and Britannia Fizz
Complimentary birthday cake and fizz will be served on board for all visitors on The Queen’s birth date, Thursday 21 April, and the national celebrations on Sunday 12 June.
There will be a programme of live music on both days from 1.30-3.30pm. The Musical Mariners’ band, will include former Royal Marines, several of whom served on Britannia and ex Guards musicians who performed on Royal duties at Buckingham Palace.
Britannia’s pianist will also be performing on both days, playing the original Welmar Baby Grand piano formerly played by Princess Diana and Noel Coward.
FREE Entry to Everyone Who Shares The Queen’s Birthday
Everyone who has the same birthday as The Queen will be given free admission to Britannia on the day. They simply need to show proof of birth date at the admission desk on Thursday 21 April or Saturday 11 June.
The Queen’s Favourite Dishes
The Royal Deck Tea Room on board Britannia will be serving a very special menu on Thursday 21 April and over the weekend of the 11 and 12 June, featuring some of The Queen’s favourite dishes, including Balmoral Leek and Potato soup, Cucumber sandwiches, Coronation Chicken sandwiches and Chocolate Perfection Pie and her favourite Dubonnet Cocktail, garnished with edible diamonds.
Design A Birthday Cake for The Queen competition
In conjunction with PoppyScotland, Scotland’s charity for the Armed Forces, Britannia is launching a very special ‘Design a Birthday Cake for The Queen’ open to all primary school children across Scotland, in two categories, P1-3 and P4-7, with the winning two creations to be baked on board in Britannia’s galley, and presented by a celebrity judge on 10 June.

To celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th birthday, Buckingham Palace has commissioned an exclusive range of commemorative fine bone china, which is now available in the Royal Yacht’s Gift Shop in Ocean Terminal and online.
