What to wear on Christmas Day. What is your Christmas Day fashion? A dress, maybe? Or do separates work better? Or do you never get out of your PJ’s? We hope not.
Whatever your Christmas Day fashion, there are a few simple elements to every Christmas Day outfit, we think, so we’ve made it the focus of this week’s Weekly Wishlist.
Let’s start in the morning – get up, get that onesie or gown on, and slippers and open those presents. And it’s much more fun if your Christmas Day fashion starts with a novelty pair of Rudolph the Reindeer slippers (£12.50, Lounge and Sleep @ Debenhams). Oh, and this cute zip up pattern gown from BHS (£28). Then it’s time to think about your outfit. If you want a dress, choose a simple style, and dress it up.
We love this plain black 50s style frock from JOY (£55, was £110). Or if you want separates pick a colour palette and stick with it. Go for simple black trousers (£34.95, GAP), or a glitzy sequin pencil skirt (£29.99, H&M)
A gold top goes perfectly with either of these options. This cut-out shoulder style from Star by Julien Macdonald @ Debenhams (£38) is glamorous, and comfortable. Win!
Choose contrasting shoes – bold , gold sequin Mary Janes from Red or Dead (£75, exclusive to Schuh), or berry velvet gold trimmed platforms from New Look (£27.99). Add a pair of drop earrings in black for a finishing touch (£7.99, H&M).
If you’re heading out, top off your Christmas Day fashion with a bold winter coat. We adore this black and white patterned coat from French Connection – even more so now it’s in the sale! (£112, was £225).
Add a pom pom hat (£7.99, H&M) if it’s cold, and/or a very festive scarf and gloves set (£22, BHS)
Grab a clashing bag like New Look’s snakeprint bucket bag (£?) and you’re all set!
Merry Christmas Day fashion!
