Ten Perfect Wedding Outfits

Wedding outfits. The very thought can strike fear into the heart of even the most hardened and stylish of fashionistas. Weddings are a minefield of fashion faux pas. What to wear. How to wear it. What will suit the wedding? What will not?

See? Planning wedding outfits is not fun! But, it can be! We’ve created ten outfit suggestions here to give you some ideas, and get you over the fear of wedding outfits.

Let’s start with something very ‘wedding’ – a classic matching two-piece with pastel accessories. This screams wedding to us, but it is very, very, safe. If your wedding is formal, and you fear wearing anything that will look too out of place then this is a perfect choice. The lovely dress (£55) and matching jacket (£45) are from BHS. Team them with statement heels from New Look (£29.99), a simple fascinator (£19.99, New Look) and a cute little beaded clutch (£30, Floozie by FrostFrench @ Debenhams).

Pastels are great for weddings – muted, understated, classy and very much on-trend this season. Go for a Bardot off-the-shoulder neckline like this lovely pale blue dress from New Look (£14.99), or pretty florals l(£14.99, New Look). A dress is a wedding staple, but you could try separates  – a Bardot body (£14.99, New Look) and a cute two-tone pencil skirt (£19.99, New Look) are perfect. French Connection’s pink blazer (£130) is a perfect  pastel piece. We love New Look’s palest of grey bow heels (£22.99) and their pale blue suedette heels (£27.99). BHS’s beige fascinator works well with pastels (£12), and Principles by Ben De Lisi’s cut out clutch (£35, Debenhams) works with every pastel.

Golden Globes Gowns – Weekly Wishlist

The Golden Globes marks the start of the award season – and the red carpet season, more importantly! So what were your favourite Golden Globes gowns?

Poor Keira Knightley got a bit of a press and social media pounding for her butterfly/feather  print, ruffled Chanel choice. We kind of liked it. Her butterfly corsage on her wrist was stunning!

Anyway, you may have put your Golden Globes gowns away for the festive season – but why? There’s always a time for Golden Globes gowns, is there not? Who said we couldn’t wear a fancy frock on a Thursday night out?

So our weekly wishlist this week is in homage to the Golden Globes gowns, and the rest of the red carpet gowns we’re going to see in the next few months.

Debenhams has some beautiful gowns. Debut’s shimmery wrap-style gown (£130) is glamorous and elegant, but understated. Or maybe a bold orange statement is one you want to make, in Butterfly by Matthew Williamson’s detailed dress (£80). Pearce II Fionda know how to make a dress. Keep their nude and black fishtail embellished lace number (£250) for that big event!

weekly wishlist golden globe gownsBlack is a great choice for a long statement gown. French Connection’s sequin embellished gown is reduced from £250 to £125 at the moment – so it’s a great time to buy. JOY’s lovely lace cap sleeved gown is also reduced – from £75 to £39.

At New Look, a cream gown (£45) with lace side detail panels is flattering and subtle – we love it! Jenny Packham No1 @ Debenhams has some beautiful gowns. Her white embellished gown (£199) is subtle and stunning – could even be a wedding gown, perhaps, brides-to-be? Talking of brides, BHS does some lovely bridesmaids dresses, which don’t necessarily look like bridesmaids dresses – don’t you think? We love their pale grey floral embellished number (£110) and their bright bold fuchsia dress (£75) with gem detail at the waist.

Finally, we love this Principles by Ben de Lisi multi-coloured patterned gown (£58) at Debenhams. Agreed?

Please note that we always endeavour to feature items that are available in Ocean Terminal, however sometimes items featured may be out of stock, and prices may vary due to seasonal reduction
