A-Z Spring Summer Trends – Part Four

Fashion. It’s great, but it’s a bit confusing at times. Don’t wear bootcut jeans, do wear them. Mini skirt, midi skirt, maxi skirt. Bright colours, pastel shades, monochrome. It’s always changing, and it is hard to keep up. So, we’re being very helpful on this blog and bringing  you the A-Z Spring Summer Trends – in four handy parts!

Last week  we brought you A-G and H-M, on Tuesday it was N-T, today it’s U-Z, the final part of our spring trend alphabet.

U is for Underwear…

U is for underwear spring trend

…as outerwear. Sort of. All hail the return of the bra-top. A late 1980s and early 1990s classic, if you’ve got the figure (and the youth) a bra-top is an absolute musthave spring trend for 2014. Here are three very different tops from H&M, all with that underwear as outerwear vibe going on. The gorgeous polka dot top (working the ruffle trend too) is £24.99, the floral print dungaree style bra top is £12.99, and the bandeau strappy detail top is £14.99.

V is for Volume

V for volume a-z spring trend

Volume comes in many forms in this spring trend. Voluminous summer coats, to wide, full A-line midi skirts, to voluminous maxi skirts like this fabulous one from French Connection (£130). Full of fabric, this amazing skirt is all you need for super summer style. I absolutely love this skirt; the pattern, the shape. the length.

W is White

W for white spring trend

Full-on, brilliant, pure white. Massive trend – massive nightmare! White is impractical, but when done well it’s uber chic. You need nothing with white except an attitude. I love this Preen for Edition @ Debenhams white dress (£85). Classic, structured, fierce and simple all rolled into one. Rock it.

X is for X-Ray

X for x ray sheer spring trend

Which means sheer. Clothes you can see through. Or bits on your clothes you can see through like the mesh part of this chic spring trend dress from French Connection (£75). A little bit of a sheer panel here and there this spring is what you want. Don’t just stick on a see through frock, yeah?

Y is for Yellow

y for yellow spring trend

We covered this spring trend back during the winter on this blog. Yellow is bright and bold for 2014. Wear it in small doses in some yellow accessories, or full-on with a dress like this fabulous Louche yellow dress from JOY (£49) which screams summer and is bound to make everyone who sees you in it smile.

Z is for Zebras…

Z for zebras

…ad giraffes, tigers, lions, birds, etc. You get the idea. Not animal print, but animal motifs. Pictures of animals on your clothes. Repetitive animal prints on your dress, skirt, trousers, and more are a big spring trend. Just maybe don’t wear them to the zoo or you might look a wee bit mad. We love this giraffe print playsuit from New Look (£14.99) and this fabulous zebra print short Tee from H&M (£9.99). Have fun with this one!

So, there you have it. Our conclusive A-Z of Spring Summer Trends in four manageable blog posts for you to consult throughout the spring/summer season. May you always be on trend!
