It’s time for the new H&M Studio SS15 Collection – but be quick, it’s selling out fast! Many pieces are already sold out online.
This lovely collection, launched twice yearly, offers specially designed pieces, with a quirky edge. This year, when we had a first look at it, we wondered if the designers had been at an Edinburgh derby – check out the Hibernian green and Heart of Midlothian maroon throughout the collection!
Product prices, clockwise, from top middle: Playsuit, £29.99, handbag, £29.99, bomber jacket, £149.99, skirt, £79.99.
But seriously, there is an interesting colour palette – a base of green, maroon (or burgundy, really), navy and pale blue mixes beautifully with bold patterns in florals and snakeskin.
It has a definite 1970s vibe about it – that decade is HUGE this spring/summer. The H&M Studio SS15 collection is not huge, but made up of key pieces, that perfectly mix and match to create simple, or eclectic looks.
“I love how H&M Studio SS15 is both glamorous and effortless,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design, New Development. “It’s about fun in the sun, and then partying in to the night.”
Some of our favourite pieces are the sunglasses, statement jewels and lovely mules which reek of retro glamour. And how utterly fabulous is the swimsuit? It’s so different, we dare you!
The pyjama style pieces are comfortable, slouchy and sophisticated, all at the same time. There are 70s style pale flared jeans, with a subtle tie dye pattern in there too – another nod to the 1970s.
Quirky hats, excellent slouchy sequinned pants, and oversized, draped silky jackets and kimonos are just wonderful.
It’s a collection that you can buy into in a big way, or just dip into a take small pieces from. Perhaps the overnight bag is enough for you? Or maybe you love the sequined trousers, and kimono combo?
However you chose to love and/or wear this collection, you better be quick, as it’s not here forever.
