The tartan skirt – Three Ways

In this little blog series, we’re going to take an Autumn Winter trend, and show you how to wear it  – three ways. This week, the tartan skirt.

Being on trend is all very well, but getting more wear out of your on-trend piece is better. Its all about being clever with the pieces you buy, and seeing how they can be adapted for various occasions. This week, the tartan skirt  – for a family party, a drink down the pub, and winter skating!

This is how we would style this simple tartan skater skirt from New Look (£17.99). Tartan is HUGE this season, so bring out the Scot in you, celebrate your roots, and embrace the tartan! A tartan skirt is a simple way to buy into the trend. If you don’t like the bold brightness of the Royal Stewart tartan, which is most used, look for darker plaids. This tartan skirt is an easy style; you can wear it with a big slouchy jumper for a dressed down look, or add a fitted top for a night out look. Tartan is one of fashion’s favourite fabrics, and no wonder, it’s so versatile!
