H&M Musee des Arts Décoratifs Conscious Exclusive Collaboration

We are already VERY excited about this latest H&M Conscious Exclusive collection; a collaboration with the Musee des Arts Décoratifs located in the Palais du Louvre in Paris

This beautiful new range has been inspired by the archives of the museum, and will be launched on Thursday 7th April to coincide with the opening of an exhibition, Fashion forward – Three centuries of fashion.

Parisian art director, style maven and sustainability champion, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, is the face of the H&M Musee campaign.

“I am honoured to be the ambassador of such a unique project,” says Julia.

“I think that the idea of creating a collection inspired by the history of art and fashion is brilliant. Especially since it is made with innovative and sustainable materials which are the future of fashion”

Known for her distinctive personal sense of style, Julia is the embodiment of effortless, conscious and modern cool.

For this Conscious Exclusive H&M Musee collection,  the design team has worked closely with the museum, delving into their collections of archival fashions as well as the work of artists such as Gustave Moreau to find inspiration.

The outcome is a glamorous line of modern red carpet pieces infused with tactile charm, a nostalgic aesthetic and a historical legacy. And we LOVE what we’ve seen so far. We can’t wait to see the rest.

“With this collection we brought the idea of sustainability to new levels,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M.

“Working with new innovative materials such as beads and rhinestones made from recycled glass and Denimite, a material made from recycled worn-out denim. We have created contemporary styles imbued with a sophisticated charm”

H&M will be the exclusive sponsor of the upcoming exhibition which will include selected styles from the H&M archives, including a look from the first ever H&M designer collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004,  as well as one silhouette from the new Conscious Exclusive collection.

You’ll have to wait until Thursday April 7 next year to shop this to see this H&M Musee collaboration collection – that’s something to look forward to, agreed?

Olivia Wilde H&M Conscious Exclusive lands

Back in December last year we gave you a wee sneak peek at the latest H&M Conscious Exclusive collection in collaboration with actor and humanitarian Olivia Wilde.

Now it’s set to hit stores, and online, in the next week, we thought we’d have a closer look. And wow – we love it. Olivia Wilde looks amazing in it of course, but the pieces are wearable, with an added quirkiness as well.

One stand out piece is the hand-painted wild bird print maxi dress (£149.99). It is stunning, and bound to sell-out.

There’s recycled polyester, organic linens, recycled plastics for sequins and beads, as well as leather that comes from cows that are reared for organic meat production on Swedish farms.

A favourite piece of Olivia Wilde is the kimono dress (£39.99) that is made from Tencel- a fabric made from cellulose from fast-growing trees.

“The dress drapes at the front and ties with a belt that’s almost Japanese in style. It’s got an open back and a slit in the skirt that makes it really sexy, ” says Olivia Wilde

H&M Olvia Wilde Conscious Exclusive Kimono DressOlivia Wilde isn’t just putting her name to this – she’s a campaigner for eco-rights, and wants to make her life more sustainable, as she commented: “I want to do more than just campaign. I want to make sustainability part of my everyday life.”

We could all do more, but one thing you can do is indulge yourself in a gorgeous piece from this collection – even if it is just a pair of earrings. By supporting sustainable fashion, it will become more of a norm in the future, surely, rather than the rarity it is now on the high street.
