A little bit of sparkle – weekly wishlist

Yes, we know it’s only November, but we’re already seeing the party invites start to pop through our letterbox. So, it’s time for a little bit of sparkle!

We love the festive season for many reasons, but the biggest one of all? That we can indulge our inner fairy princess and add sparkle to whatever we wear. Shoes, handbags, dresses, T-shirts, trousers, you name it, we’ll sparkle it!

Glitter, sequins, metallic fabrics  – all the sparkle we will ever need. If you want to start wearing your sparkle now, we salute you – be subtle with it, perhaps just the odd sequinned T-shirt, or some bling on your sandals. Then work your way up to full on sparkle come December – and there’s nothing more full-on than French Connection’s amazing sequinned flared trousers (£130). How cool?

Wit the weather we’ve been having of late, H&M’s glittery storm motif T-shirt is a musthave (£14.99). Other fab sequinned tops come from J by Jasper Conran @ Debenhams – full sequins, or maybe just sequin panels down the front is more your style, like this lovely Betty Jackson Black @ Debenhams chiffon top (£45). But we absolutely adore New Look’s black and autumnal ombre sequinned top (£32.99).

Little bit of Sparkle - weekly wishlistNew Look’s bandeau top (£22.99) and pencil skirt (£27.99) two piece is sparkle perfection for your festive party. Also at New Look, the very non-subtle, statement silver glitter platform shoes (£34.99)! Do you dare?

If not, then perhaps just a pair of black sandals with diamante trim down the front (£34.99)? New Look’s silver jacquard dress (£34.99) is sure to unleash your inner Elsa? Snow Queens are us!

Also in the Snow Queen style, French Connection’s feather and sparkle cape (£180) – utterly beautiful, and perfect to add a touch of sparkle to skinny jeans and a vest.

Finally, a cute black lace and glittery perfume bottle shape handbag (£35, Faith @ Debenhams) is festive perfection!

Party Shoes!

Party shoes on the shopping list this weekend? Any excuse, eh?! Carrie Bradshaw would say every day is a good occasion for buying shoes, we guess. Perhaps Sarah Jessica Parker’s Sex And The City character was a bit obsessed.

But at this time of year we have the perfect excuse for  a new pair of party shoes. It’s Christmas. We have parties to go to and that means new outfits and new shoes. The more party shoes we can acquire the better – glittery, shiny, simple, or bold. There are loads of party shoes out there.

If you are going to make a statement with your party shoes, make it a metallic one. A big trend this season is the simple ankle-strap sandal, and there are tons to choose from. Wedges and platforms are still there – try them in bold glittery styles for a statement shoes.
