Fringing Fun after the Fringe!

The Edinburgh festival and fringe may be over, but that’s not the last we;ll see of fringing this year! Yes, fashion fans, you can carry on with your own little fringe homage all through the autumn/winter.

Thanks tothe 1970s trend that’s everywhere this season, there’s A LOT of fringing out there. A lot. Really, a lot, a lot, a lot.

Fringing on everything, from skirts, to tops, to dresses, to shoes, to bags. We think the only thing we haven’t seen with a fringe yet is a phone cover. But give it time!

So, forget the fringe in your hair (that’s not such a huge trend this season), and add some fringing to everything else. And we relaly do mean everything. Fringing works best in leathers and suede.

Let’s start with full-on fringing. H&M’s fringe-trimmed midi dress (£49.99) is a great late autumn party frock, agreed? H&M also have a gorgeous suede fringed midi skirt, in tan or black (£99.99), but if that’s out of your budget, New Look have a lovey camel suedette version for £22.99.

New Look’s short black suedette dress (£24.99) has a fringing front detail. Fringing works on a cotton Tee like this grey version from Valley of the Dolls @ JOY (£25).

And how beautiful is French Connection’s gorgeous metallic fringing jacket (£350), with those delicate metal fringes? We adore it!

Fringing fashion oneFringing works brilliantly on a simple waistcoat, or gilet. We also just love New Look’s suede cape (£49.99), with the best fringing ever. Team with a vest and jeans for a simple, cute look. H&M’s woollen fringed gilet is a perfect autumnal cover up, and New Look’s tan suede waistcoat (£44.99) is 70s-tastic.

BHS’s paisley pattern devore kimono with fringing (£38) taps in to a few key trends for this autumn winter.  Go boho with the lovely fringed Butterfly by Matthew Williamson big tote bag at Debenhams (£79), or keep it slightly more subtle with New Look’s leather fringed mock croc print slouchy bag (£24.99).

fringing fun twoShoes with fringing? Absolutely. Boots and shoes look great, just not cowboy books. Wre’re not trying to recreate the Wild West with this trend!

H&M’s tan flat fringed boots (£39.99) are our favourites for everyday wear. For nights out, we love New Look’s selection. Choose from gold block heeled fringe front shoe-boot slingbacks  (£29.99), or nude suede-like fringed open-toe boots (£24.99), or black studded fringe boots with killer heels (£64.99).

frinigng fun threeAnd here are two more cute fringed handbags for you – H&M’s dinky fringed shoulder bag is just £7.99, and this little pink handbag is from Red Herring at Debenhams (£22).

More fringe fun than you had in August, right?!
