Halloween Style… Stylishly

It’s Halloween next weekend, and that means sorting out your Halloween style. But don’t worry, we’re not about to guide you to the fancy dress costume shop.

No, we’re talking about doing Halloween style, well, stylishly. Think black. Think maxi dresses. Think lace, sequins, glitter, and a few little Halloween nods thrown in. Pop on a witches hat, or some cat ears, and you’re good to go.

For true Halloween style, it has to be black. So embrace everyone’s favourite shade whilst you can! Start with a maxi dress if you have to dress up. Teamed with a cape and a witches hat, and you have a costume – but your way.

Feathery Fashion!

Fashion is having a moment – a feathery fashion moment! it’s like a cross between Black Swan and Hitchock’s The Birds out there. Feathers are everywhere – on handbags, dresses, tops, jumpers and, er,  little feathery fashion capes.

Alberta Ferretti and Lanvin were amongst the designers who used feathers, not just as a trim, but as an integral part of their AW14 collections. They embraced feathery fashion, and now we all can!

So, time to release your inner fluttery friend, and get some feathers on! Feathers come in all types of course, and one of the fluffiest, and most popular in our feathery fashion trend is bound to be marabou.

Gorgeous marabou handbag anyone? Dorothy Perkins has the most adorable clutch, in plenty of colours. Or a marabou trimmed cardigan. Feathers look great dangling from earrings, agreed?

If you aren’t overly keen on the feathery fashion trend in a literal sense – that is wearing actual feathers – then how fret not, this feathery fashion trend has feather print involved as well – digital print, or illustrated print. Marabou trimmed slippers are retro cool, and black feathers are probably the key way to wear this feathery fashion trend.

There is nothing more glamorous, mysterious, dark, gothic and, well, a little bit wacky, than full on black feathers. Natalie Portman eat your heart out!

How much are we loving the black feathered bolero from Dorothy Perkins, with that amazing colour shimmer, just like real raven feathers? A simple pair of feather earrings in a winter wine colour are a cute way to do this trend. And how cosy does that marabou collar look!?
