Culottes. First seen inthe 1940s, truly loved in the 1970s, and super-easy and super-stylish to wear. Embrace them! This season will see the release of more and more culottes as the autumn moves on. For now, the shops have a few pairs, with French Connection leading the way with both 1970s-inspired wide-leg culottes, and a more slimline, more modern take.
Culottes look fantastic in bold prints, and equally as great in simple navy or black. They’re a brilliant workwear alternative to a skirt, or trousers. They work with knee high boots, wedge heels, courts, or ankle boots.
Culottes are one of those fasntastic fashion trends that, when they come around again, we wonder why we haven’t been wearing them all the time. Time for culottes to become a wardrobe staple, perhaps?
