Statement earrings like Cheryl!

Never mind all the fuss about Cheryl Fernando-whatshername’s green dress, and Simon Cowell’s subsequent (and pretty unoriginal and unfunny) Kermit comment, I was more interested in those earrings she was wearing on last Saturday’s X Factor!

Cheryl x factor green dress earringsThey were earrings to die for! Gorgeous, glorious, huge diamond encrusted drops. They were whoppers of the earrings world. If you’re going to wear earrings, why not make them a statement? And that’s exactly what Cheryl did on Saturday night.

So, want to copy her earring style? Easy. Just make sure they’re big, bold and sparkly. Keep them simple (well, as simple as big sparkly earrings get!) by sticking to rhinestone and diamante gems. And BHS do clip-ons for those of you without pierced ears! Choose from huge chandeliers, or slightly smaller if that’s too much, or French Connection’s long column drop style might be more your thing?

Gorgeous bold, autumnal coloured stones make your earrings a real statement. Pearls and tassels at H&M look fantastic, and filigree styles make your earrings a little softer if chunky isn’t really doing it for you.

Just Jewellery

Jewellery – the easiest way to spruce up an outfit. Add a bit of bling to a simple dress, or t-shirt and jeans combo and you’re ready for a night on the town. Jewellery isn’t just an addition to an outfit – it can make an outfit!

Autumn winter always makes it easier to pile on the jewels – costumes jewellery comes into its own in the run-up to Christmas.

Mix and match metals and textures. Forget the rules – gold looks great with silver, and mismatched brooches, earrings and necklaces look great, Layer on the rhinestones for grown-up glamour, or keep it punk with some thick gold chains, and studs.
