Bikinis – Weekly Wishlist

It’s time to think bikinis! The sun is shining, we’re all feeling happier, and thinking of our summer holidays, yeah?

And bikinis. Invented in 1946 by Frenchman Louis Reard, bikinis are the best-selling beachwear. More popular than swimsuits, bikinis come in all sorts of shapes and designs, from itsy-bitsy, to retro, big pant styles which are more and more popular every year.

Debenhams has a huge selection of brilliant bikinis, and 12 of them have made it on to our very summer Weekly Wishlist.

Maybe you favour a frilly little Floozie by FrostFrench bright summer yellow number (£39)? Or a racy, silver metallic bikini (£20) you can wear from beach to bar? Another versatile style, the fab J by Jasper Conran black mesh detail bikini top (£28) could see you from beach to bar. Maybe the matching bottoms (£22) too?! Be a bit bolder in a similar style from the same designer, but in bold purple (£50). Another beachwear-meets-dancewear style comes from Red Herring, with their long-sleeved top (£26) and matching bottoms (£16).

weekly wishlist Debenhams bikinisJ by Jasper Conran’s mesh insert continues on his graphic blue patterned bikini (top £26, bottoms, £20), and there’s also mesh detail on the bold yellow, black and white graphic print two-piece from Gorgeous (top, £29.50, bottoms, £18).

Florals are big this year. Maybe floral bikinis are your thing? There are plenty of styles to choose from. Reger by Janet Refers classic big rose print looks great on big pants (£24, and a halterneck top, £32). Floozie by FrostFrench’s red floral and dotty retro style bottoms (£26.50) and top (£16.50) are for pin-up fans everywhere. Red Herring’s pale blue floral and feather set (£32) is retro-tastic, as is Floozie by FrostFrench’s polka dot and tropical fruit bikini with a pink bow (£46.50) – we adore this one!

Finally, Butterfly by Matthew Williamson’s muted floral print works beautifully on his cut-out pants (£20) and halter style top (£20).

All of these bikinis are or will be available at Debenhams stores and debenhams.com – and there are plenty more where these came from!
