Graphic prints – Weekly Wishlist

There’s a graphic prints trend coming this autumn/winter, so brace yourself, and be ready to adopt them.

Don’t be too scared – they’re not all huge, bright, bold 1960s style graphic prints. But there are some like that. This trend is probably one that will fly mostly under the radar, and you should be selective with your prints – don’t just bung on any old printed thing.

To help you decipher the graphic prints trend early in the season, we’ve chose it as our Weekly Wishlist, because we are here to help!

So, start, perhaps with a lovely geometric print dress (£45, JOY) in an acidic bright. Ora bright, bold psychedelic style print in berries and reds like the super shift from Principles @ Debenhams (£35).

Also at Principles, there’s a block patchwork graphic prints style sweater (£35). New Look’s suede-look 1970s style patchwork skirt isn’t strictly a graphic print, but this patchwork look is one to embrace this season.

Weekly Wishlist graphic printsBHS’s long-line midi skirt (£25) has a geometric graphic feel to it. H&M’s tube skirt (£7.99) has a linear graphic design. Betty Jackson Black’s monochrome graphic prints coat (£75) is a winter musthave from Debenhams. Bring the 80s back with this fantastic coat!

Another 80s classic, and a fashion classic, and essentially could be classed as a graphic print is dogtooth check. We love French Connection’s red and black check and dogtooth check sweater (£80).

H&M’s triangular graphic prints dress (£12.99) is a cute late summer to autumn transitional piece – just add leggings when it’s cold. Graphic prints look great on shift dresses. New Look’s blue based shift (£29.99) has a great design, and Principles @ Debenhams’ pink and black print dress (£50) has a great Art Deco vibe to it.

Finally, French Connection’s bright abstract digital graphic prints trousers (£80) will brighten up any autumn day.

Big Prints – Weekly Wishlist

Liberty can keep their cutesy, ditsy, teeny weeny floral prints, hell yeah. This spring/summer we’re all about big prints. Big, bold, standout, big prints. Yeah!

Fashion is having a bit of a big prints moment, with everything from shoes to trousers, culottes, skirts, dresses and tops adorned with big prints – be they floral, tropical, or geometric or graphic.

This is not a moment for the faint of heart. This is a big prints = bold statements moment – are you brave enough? This week’s Weekly Wishlist is our fave big prints! Time to go big!

Of course you are. If you really aren’t feeling it, perhaps a pair of bold floral sandals will be enough (£25, Red Herring @ Debenhams). But we suggest a top – something bright, or monochrome, with a fab big pattern. Big prints in the shape of huge florals look great in green and blue on white in this J by Jasper Conran @ Debenhams top (£35). Pair it with jeans for a fab effect, or tuck it into a voluminous midi skirt. The same designer uses such huge prints on a simple shift dress (bottom right, £65), it’s difficult to even recognise them as florals. The flowers are more subtle, but still big, on the lovely v-neck dress from French Connection (£110). H&M’s black and white floral top (£14.99) is more subtle as well.

big prints weekly wishlistNavy ankle length slightly boot cut trousers, with jade green big florals? Yep. They’re a thing. Get them at H&M (£29.99). Red Herrings black crop top (£32) at Debenhams with a great aqua floral is cute. Of course big prints don’t have to be florals. How fantastically tropically summery is  New Look’s leaf print midi skirt (£22.99)? And there’s a top to match!

White Stuff’s cap sleeve top (£37.50) is heavy on the leaf print too, and the deep green and hints of yellow make a lovely print for spring. Finally Betty Jackson.Black @ Debenhams have taken a big red floral print, softened it, and made it summery beautiful with a cream background, on a slouchy half-sleeved top (£45).

Go big or go home!
