New Spring Shoes

Spring officially starts this weekend, so we say it’s definitely time for new spring shoes. Ease those feet out of those boots and trainers, get yourself a pedicure, and then pop them back into something lighter.

Platforms, wedges, heels, low heels, mules or flats – there’s something for everyone when it comes to new spring shoes. And who doesn’t love a pair of new shoes? Any excuse we say.

Let’s start with heels. Come spring, come weddings, and you will need new spring shoes for your friend’s big day, agreed? The stores are full of bold colours, with fringes, ties, prints, straps, and studs. There are so many styles to choose from, to fit with whatever trend you’re rocking this spring.

If heels are too much, maybe wedges are more your thing? They fit perfectly into the 1970s trend that’s still with us, and are brilliant holiday shoes. Wedges are also fab with tights, and under maxi dresses, so the perfect new spring shoes when the weather isn’t that spring-like yet.

Staying high, platforms and mules are still making their mark. Platforms are easy to walk in. Mules are on trend this season. Pop either or on your new spring shoes list.

Bringing things back down to the ground a little bit, low heels are great for everyday wear, or if you just can’t do heels any more. Courts or sandals, clogs or block heels, just keep these new spring shoes on the down low.

And if you want to feel the terra firma beneath your feet, then chose some flats. Flats don’t have to be boring, or trainers. Try pumps, sandals, loafers or brogues. Play with colour, pattern and finish to brighten up those flats. We love daytime metallics.

Flats on our feet Please

Heels are great. We all love them. But there comes a time when flat is a much more appealing idea. Flat shoes, or flats,  are the sensible choice. But since when did we choose sensible over style, fashion fans?

Well, now you can have both. Stylish, sensible, flat shoes. On trend this season, flats are the celebrity shoe of choice, and for this autumn/winter there are LOADS to choose from, all sorts of styles.

The big three flats groups are chunky/brogue style, loafers, and pumps.

Loafers are sturdy, and stylish, and perfect in this season’s berry shades, or bright and bold metallics. Wear with cropped capri pants, or jeans. We love GAP’s burgundy white-soled casual loafer. French Connection’s slip-on snakeskin loafers are a fun take on a traditional shoe – and the only flatform we’re loving this week.

Chunky soles, Dr Martens, and brogues. Shoes that we’ve stolen from the guys, we love chunky shoes. We love the feel of them, the look of them, and the variety of them we can stick our feet in! Brogues are uber-mart work shoes, great with midi skirts, brilliant with trouser suits, fantastic with jeans. We love metallic brogues, and classic styles. We love them all, the king of flats!

And finally pumps and slingbacks. Ballet pumps you can fold up and stick in your bag on a night-out. Flat slingbacks. Brilliant berry shades for autumn, gorgeous metallics and the obligatory leopard print – guaranteed to add something to jeans and a Tee! And how beautifully stylish are H&M’s navy bow front satin slingback pumps? Super stylish flats a la Audrey Hepburn. Team with capri pants, or a midi skirt – sorted.
