There’s a new kid in town! Well, a new designer in the Limited Edition Scotland Re: Designed store at Ocean Terminal, anyway. Welcome Strathberry of Scotland, a luxury retailer of beautiful leather and tweed goods.
Strathberry was founded in 2011 by Guy Hundleby, and in 2013 won Most Stylish Retailer at the Scottish Style Awards. Not bad!
Concentrating on their global online sales, Strathberry still have their HQ in Edinburgh, and trade out of Hawico in the Grassmarket in Edinburgh.
But now, until January 31, you can find their lovingly crafted goods in the Limited Edition store.
Shirley Manson is a fan, Andy Garcia loved their golf bag, and they are the first Scottish fashion brand to use salmon skin in their production. Their beautiful salmon skin clutch bag (£295, it comes in gold, silver, red and blue) is a wishlist dream item.
The focus of the products at Strathberry is in the quality. They use the finest materials, to handcraft all of their pieces. Bags can take up to 14 hours to make. The craftsmen who work for the brand have a pedigree second to none, having previously crafted for the likes of Givenchy, Loewe and Chanel.
Cashmere used comes from an over 150 year old mill, the tweeds used from mills dating back to 1700, and then there’s that salmon skin (from non-endangered species, of course).
Strathberry’s classic Tantallon tweed satchel bag is beautiful tweed with ruby and navy calfskin leather and is now half-price, at £172.50, down from £345.
Their MC bag (£495), and MC Midi bag (£395) is a classic that will last you years. Handcrafted in the finest calfskin, the Midi comes in nine stunning shades.
