A-Z Autumn Winter Trends – Part Four

Back in March we brought you a very handy four-part guide to spring summer trends. So, we’re back now with another very hand four-part guide, this time our A-Z autumn winter trends. Fashion is great, but a bit confusing, and we don’t want to be wearing the wrong thing do we?

So, here’s the final part of our handy A-Z autumn winter trends guide, covering U-Z.

U is for Underwear/Outerwear

Not since Madonna did it, has underwear as outerwear been such a trend. Well, okay, not just underwear worn as outerwear, but outerwear with elements of underwear. Like these shorts? Get it? But we’re not saying don’t wear a bra with your jeans if you can. And a teddy or body over opaque tights, with statement shoes and a leather jacket? Why not. Lady Gaga wore huge pants as daywear. Always remember that…

V is for Volume

Voluminous skirts in particular. Think 1940s, Dior’s New Look, and 1950s, circle skirts and twinsets. The volume in your midi skirt matters! The bigger the better!

X is for Xtra Big Coats

Okay, we’re pushing it a bit with this one, but outsize, extra big, and oversized are the only way coats should be this winter. Blanket coats are huge – literally! And a huge trend. Ooh, we can’t wait to get all cosy in a big, big, big coat!

If a big old blanket coat isn’t your thing, maybe fake fur is? Yeti style, as we like to call it, is everywhere this winter. Fake fur coats, gilets, hats, scarves, bags – you want it in fake fur, you can have it!

Z is for Zesty Brights

It’s winter, why would we not want to wear zesty brights? Beat SAD with bright, bold clothes! Well, at least help our mood a little. Bright colours are great in winter, so embrace zesty brights in at least one of your outfits this autumn winter.

F is for Folklore and Fairytales

Probably one of our favourite trends, hard o describe, and not quite hitting the stores yet. This one can be interpreted in many ways – winter florals, folky boots, blanket style cover ups, or animal prints on clothes, lots of owl prints, hooded capes, swishing long dresses. We love it!
