Culottes Six Ways

Culottes are huge this summer again. They’ve been having a bit of a fashion moment for the last few seasons, but this spring summer will be their time to shine. They’re stylish, on-trend, and comfy – what’s not to love!

Maybe you’ve avoided them because you’re not sure how to wear them? Well, worry no more, we’re here to help, with culottes six ways.

We’ve styled a gorgeous green pair of lightweight poly-crepe culottes from JOY, £35, at  six different ways, for occasions, and everyday.

Let’s start with a night out in the first of our culottes six ways. Team your culottes with a sexy cami top like this one from H&M (£3.99 bargain!). We’ve added a sequinned bolero (£25, BHS) for a bit of bling, and a striped sequinned/beaded bag (£19.99, New Look). Black strappy sandals (£49.99, H&M) complete the look and add an edge to the softness.

Next up for culottes six ways, is a daytime look. Keep your look chic and sophisticated for a lunch date. Add grey to contrast the green – a roll neck sweater is perfect (£12, BHS). White Stuff’s grey sandals (£59.95) look fab with or without tights. Add a Lavish Alice @ JOY cape jacket (£54), a cross body bag (£39.95, White Stuff), and a cute pair of earrings (£12.50, White Stuff), and you’re ready.

With these green culottes, you have the perfect opportunity to go bold with some colour blocking. Add a cold shoulder blue top from New Look (£17.99), a bright orange clutch from Star by Julien Macdonald @ Debenhams, and some bright yellow shoes (£17.99, New Look). Oh, and a little green bracelet (£15, White Stuff) with coloured tassel detail for an extra bit of fun!

You can wear culottes to a wedding, and, if styled well, they’ll go from chic to bang on-trend from ceremony to reception! Start with a cute striped crop off-shoulder top (£17.99, New Look), add an embellished longline jacket (£49.99, H&M), with golds and blues and greens. Keep the colour palette with navy shoes (£30) and fascinator (£tbc), both BHS, and a contrasting pale blue soft suede clutch (£29.99, H&M). At night, whip off the hat and the jacket, and hit the dance floor!

Culottes are ‘on fleek’ with this look, LOL! In all seriousness, we love this dressed down casual style. Add a body suit (£12.99, New Look) to your culottes, some Adidas court vantage trainers (£50, Schuh), and a white backpack (£24.99, H&M). Then ramp up the look with a cute cap (£7.99, H&M) and on-trend bomber jacket (£34.99, New Look).
