It’s officially spring. Actually, it’s officially British Summer Time, but let’s not get too excited. Last time we stepped outside it was freezing. But…there’s no time like the present to get your wardrobe prepped for the warmer days.
So, we’re talking spring trends today – and our top ten. The spring trends we think you will want to indulge in, and those you should start bringing into your outfits now.
It’s bold, it’s bright, and it’s everywhere. We’re told orange is a difficult colour to wear, but we say it’s how you wear it that counts. It’s the boldest of spring trends to embrace, and we reckon it looks at its very best on a bright orange dress. If a small splash of orange suits you better, try simple top. It looks brilliant on holiday, with a sunshine glow.
Denim is a safe fallback – we all have our favourite pair of jeans. But branch out with your denim this season – try a denim shirt, or playsuit, or skirt, as well as your classic jeans and jackets. And step out of your skinnies – try some on-trend flares!
Ruffles are a wee bit awkward, but they don’t need to be huge. Go big if you like, or just embrace a simple little ruffle on a sleeve, or a bikini.
Animal prints are a perennial fashion favourite – this season it’s the turn of snakeskin as the print to have. Be bold and wear it all over a dress, or do it subtly on shoes or a bag.
Dungarees are having a BIG fashion moment this season. One of the hottest spring trends to embrace, these are not just for pregnant women or kids. Get some dungarees – they’re pracrtical, comfortable and fun! Skinny, boyfriend, flared, cropped -there are loads of styles and denims to choose from.
They’re a ’90s throwback, chokers, and the jury is still out. But they are everywhere, celebs are loving the and if you have the neck and the jawline, then this is the only necklace you need this season!
Off-the-shoulder, cold shoulder, whatever you’re calling it, just bare the shoulders in this hottest of spring trends. Tops, dresses, jumpsuits and more.
8. BIG earrings
Whatever you hang from your lobes this spring, make them big! Big earrings are it this season. So, go bold and make a statement with your ears!
9. Boho Folk
Yes, yes, it’s always somewhere around, but this season, the boho folk look is one of the top spring trends. A simple Tee, a full on folksy dress, or a cute playsuit. As long as there’s embroidery, fringes and perhaps the odd dreamcatcher, you’re doing fine.
10. Lace up sandals
If they were good enough for the ancient Greeks – or was it the Romans? Or maybe both? – anyway, they’re good enough for us, and one of the top spring trends for your feet. Just watch them in the sun – you don’t want lace-up tan lines!
