Neutrals and Nudes

There’s a trend this autumn/winter that everyone can get into – neutrals and nudes. Although it sounds safe and easy to do, neutrals and nudes can be  one of the sharpest looks out there.

Think Faye Dunaway in 1968 movie The Thomas Crowne Affair – neutral, beige, camel, nude palette at its very best. In 1976, Faye appeared in Oscar-winning movie, Network, again with an amazing neutral and nude palette.

It’s another trend that’s roots lie in the biggest trend this season, the 1970s of course.

So, how do you take a neutrals and nudes palette from day to night? How do you make it sophisticated?  Mix it up. Use berries, blush shades, beige and khaki to lift the neutrals. Choose your pieces carefully.

A neutrals dress in beige, rich camel,  or deeper tan works brilliantly with contrasting accessories. A neutral jacket is a perfect way to dip into the trend, and these shades work brilliantly with denim.
