Learn your lines!

Learn you lines! Or earn your stripes! Mix up those stripes – diagonal, vertical, horizontal, wide, narrow or both.Stripes are a great spring fashion move – so learn your lines and wear them everywhere!

If you want to start somewhere simple, then learn your lines with a top first of all. A simple top is great for stripes novices. We love French Connection’s wide-hemmed striped top (£60), and we also love H&M’s longline multi-coloured stripe shirt (£29.99) – totally 90s.

Simple Tees are perfect – BHS’s black and white slash neck goes with everything (£7.50) and White Stuff’s blue and white has a great neckline (£19.95).

Principles by Ben De Lisi’s black and white striped jumper is a great bold spring knit (£38, Debenhams), and BHS’s bold blue green and white top is, well, bold (£20). Whereas White Stuff’s muted pastel stripe vest is much more subtle (£37.50)

learn your lines threeIf you are feeling brave, go for crazy with stripes and learn your lines the bold way. Are you brave enough to wear New Look’s multi-stripe trousers? (£17.99).

A striped coat is a statement – this one is from J by Jasper Conran @ Debenhams (£85). New Look’s grey stripe skirt is more subtle (£17.99) and has a fab paper bag waist. New Look’s pale stripe skirt is spring in a skirt (£19.99). GAP’s gorgeous oversized chunky stripe cardigan is fab for a fun cover-up (£22.95).

Striped accessories look bright and modern – New Look’s multi-coloured bag is great for city or beach (£19.99) and H&M’s striped loafers (£9.99) are a cheap and cheerful way to cheer up your look.

learn your lines twoA striped dress or jumpsuit is a bold statement. Perfect for a city wedding, or a summer night. French Connection’s cotton long sleeve jersey dress is simple and chic (£45). New Look’s monochrome strip jumpsuit (£22.99) is uber-stylish – team with a floppy hat and wedges for a great 1970s inspired look.

And New Look’s big bright hankie hemmed dress (£22.99) is fresh and bright. New Look have a lot of stripes this season – their pink and blue shirt dress is another bold spring statement piece (£22.99).

For stripes in a quieter way, BHS offer green and blue in a tie-waist knit dress (£25), and a simple monochrome tunic (£35).
