Commonwealth Games fashion – Weekly Wishlist

We all love fashion, and we all love a wishlist – so here’s a weekly wishlist with a few of our favourite fashion picks. We’ll be doing this for the next few weeks, so make sure you pop in each week if you want to see what’s on our summer weekly wishlist.

The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games start today so this week’s list is all about that sports luxe trend, and wearing sportswear – but in a well, non Commonwealth Games athlete way.(And not a kilt, or questionable blue dress or skirt in sight – let’s not even get started on THAT uniform!)

This is not about how to dress like an athlete – this is how to embrace the Commonwealth Games spirit in your fashion, with just a few sports luxe trend pieces. Think heels, silky jogging style pants and a bomber jacket. Or a crisp white short dress harking back to the olden days of tennis whites.

Sports luxe has been a big trend this season, and it’s going to hang around for a little while into Autumn, so some of these Commonwealth Games inspired wishlist buys could see you through to the end of the year.

This lovely H&M shirt dress (£34.99) is a perfect summer evening outfit, but if you want even more sports luxe comfort then JOY’s two-tone silky jogging pants (£42)by Louche, are perfect.

Backpacks – or rucksacks – are this year’s bag of choice, perfectly sporty, and beautifully luxe in leather from French Connection (£75). A flowery bomber jacket from New Look (£22, was £27.99) is a simple way of giving a fashion nod to the Commonwealth Games, and keeping it summery.

New Look’s white flatform sole sandals (£24.99) are sports luxe perfection, but if you want proper trainers to wear if you are actually going to the Commonweath Games – or want to get in training for the next – then how about Nike’s latest Rushe Run Hype style, £75, at Schuh?

Please note that we always endeavour to feature items that are available in Ocean Terminal, however sometimes items featured may be out of stock, and prices may vary due to seasonal reduction
