Blue Monday Style – Weekly Wishlist

Apparently, this is the most depressing Monday of the entire year. It’s officially Blue Monday (thought up by some travel agents, we believe, trying to sell holidays), when we are all supposed to be feeling really, er, blue.

So, how to approach Blue Monday? With Blue Monday style, of course! Blue Monday for us means facing it head on with something blue – and not just for the day, for the rest of the month!

Blue is going be a  big colour this spring – all shades, and it’s anything BUT miserable, right? If gorgeous cobalt blue is your shade, than French Connection’s 90s-inspired faux leather backpack (£85) might be on your list? Or the lovely Principles by Ben De Lisi @ Debenhams cobalt shift midi-dress (£55) – a great alternative to black in the office. JOY’s Louche eye blue stone ring (£8) will add a hint of cobalt to any outfit, and in the sale at JOY, we love this shirt-style maxi dress, down to £32.50 from £65..

Blue Monday Style - Weekly WishlistFrench Connection’s cobalt slouchy cotton sweater (£55) is the perfect spring knit -and a Blue Monday style fave of ours. We are also coveting New Look’s pale blue snakeskin print clutch (£15.99). And their pale blue and white retro-inspired shoes (£22.99) are at the top of our Blue Monday style wishlist. For a Blue Monday style look at the office, try New Look’s navy culottes (£17.99). Glam them up in the evening with contrasting cobalt blue sandals (£29.99, New Look).

BHS’s twist detail shift (£30) is a gorgeous shade of blue, as is their lovely cornflower peacoat (£40).

Pale blue  – or rather serenity – is one of the Pantone Colors of the Year, so you can take this Blue Monday style all the way through the year with White Stuff’s chunky sandals (£59.95), or this lovely Bailey & Quinn tote from Debenhams (£139)..

Finally, for Spring, make White Stuff’s blue and white oversized tote (£27.50) your shopper of choice.

Perfect Blue Monday style!
