Have you had a look at your shoulders of late? Well, you better get inspecting them soon, because bare shoulders are a ‘thing’ this season.
As well as the off-the-shoulder top, there’s the cold-shoulder version – sort of a normal top, but with big holes where the shoulder part should be. Even Liz Macdonald in Corrie has got on board with this one. But don’t let that put you off…! (Ah, we’re just kidding Liz!).
So, this week, on our weekly wishlist is a dozen tops and dresses, all with bare shoulders.
Let’s start with the simple, classic black cold-shoulder midi dress (£29.99, H&M). This one is long-sleeved, so it’s just those bare shoulders on show. New Look have a couple of cold-shoulder dresses for spring – a lovely floral patterned number, and a very sharp pink shirt style/ longline shirt dress – both of them are £19.99.
New Look also have a very blousy, big, billowing peach cold-shoulder peplum top (£15.99) that will look fab with jeans. Dorothy Perkins @ BHS have a v-neck cold-shoulder number in a shimmery fabric in the sale (£19.50, was £26).
Debenhams Red Herring bright yellow/orange one shoulder top (£28) is summer perfection in clothes form, agreed?! Or is that H&M’s white lace off-the-shoulder top (£29.99) with a big ruched hem. We love this top.
The off-the-shoulder style on dresses was hugely popular in the 1950s, so channel your inner Hollywood star with French Connection’s blue floral pattern frock (£63, was £125). Show off those bare shoulders in this pretty dress.
H&M’s grey utilitarian cold-shoulder top (£12.99) is an everyday spring staple, and also comes in other shades. Their off-the-shoulder black body (£24.99) is another staple, with an edge.
Bare shoulders! It’s time to get them out!
