It’s Christmas, time to slip into your best party dress….er, wait a minute, who says so? You don’t want to wear a dress, you don’t have to! There are lots of alternative Christmas party outfits out there. We’ve come up with four ideas, should you not be a fan of a party frock.
Androgynous style is in this season, so we’re starting our alternative Christmas party outfits with a simple tux style suit. Add a simple cami top or vest underneath, grab a glittery bag, and add some bling. Oh and don’t forget your heels.
Clockwise, from top left: Tux jacket, £24.99, H&M, white crochet detail cami, £17.99, New Look (in store next week), tux trousers, £24.99, H&M, glitter bag, £12.99, lace detail earrings, £4.99, both New Look, black velvet sandals, £55, Schuh, silver stone bracelet, £30, J by Jasper Conran @ Debenhams.
Got good pins – show them off in hotpants. Alternative Christmas party outfits don’t have to be skirts – if you want to wear shorts, do it! Team them with a slouchy printed t-shirt, add a pop of colour, and, of course, don’t forget your heels (or your tights if you are cold!)
Maybe your Christmas party is a more casual affair. A few drinks down the pub, perhaps. Maybe you just don’t want to get all dressed up and prefer a bit of comfort. Well, you can still have that AND festive sparkle. This might be the most controversial of our alternative Christmas party outifts, but you can rock it! Sequinned leggings, metallic detail sweatshirt – there you go!
Clockwise, from left: Sequin tuxedo leggings, £120, French Connection, perspex necklace, £20, Betty Jackson.Black @ Debenhams, panther head ring, £2.99, chain detail boots, £69.99, both New Look, metallic detail sweatshirt, £29.95, GAP.
